While the vast majority of people will achieve success utilizing the basic principles of nutrition and lifestyle management, as explained in our clinical nutrition section, some individuals have goals which take them beyond the basic tenets of a balanced diet. For these people, we can create a more tailored intake of protein, fats and carbohydrates, in order to ensure they are consuming the right amount of each of these nutrients, from the correct sources, at the best times, in order to give them an extra edge in their activity of choice (ie, sport). This can also include closer attention to micronutrients (ie, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, enzymes, etc), which are more likely to be a cause for concern in cases where training intensity, frequency and duration are pressing the limits of an athlete's specific recovery capability.

IMPORTANT NOTE

For someone seeking help in this area, it is assumed that their basic needs are already being met. If not, we will first work on simple principles, before making more specific changes, because more specific is more work, and this is not necessary, or possibly even a hindrance when primary principles have not first been achieved. Performance nutrition will still be the goal, however, while keeping current lifestyle realities in mind, in order to get the best results possible without any added stress; extra stress only detracts from any perceived benefits of more complicated dietary planning, usually leading to a loss of adherence.

Since training and nutrition go hand in hand when attempting to achieve the highest level of performance possible, you may consider our one-on-one or group training services, which will help ensure you are correctly applying training parameters such as exercise selection, training frequency, total volume and recovery.
